Our simple motel suite in Palm Springs gave us all kinds of inspiration for thinking about the cottage in Invermere. Thinking about it we realized that the main floor of the Trend House provides a perfect blueprint for it - it’s the right size (about 1000 sq ft) the orientation is exactly the same as in Invermere (the back of the house faces north) and we can mark off  all of the interior walls to get a real feel for the size of the rooms.
